Delta Cancels 300 Flights Wednesday Amid Power Failure Fallout

Delta canceled 317 flights on Wednesday.

As of Wednesday morning Delta said he had cancelled some 255 flights after the company already nixed over 1,500 flights in the previous days.

After it combined IT systems with merger partner Continental, United suffered shutdowns on several days, most recently in 2015. "It's great to have flashy apps and a flashy website, but if you can't board a plane, it's a problem". Delta gate agents wrote some boarding passes by hand. In Tokyo, a dot-matrix printer was resurrected to keep track of passengers on a flight to Shanghai.

Goldberg said Delta's backup systems may not have had the capacity to run the systems, causing the slowness.
