Samsung in talks with USA safety regulator over exploding washing machines

Samsung and the commission are working on a fix, according to the statement. Reports of Samsung washing machines exploding and catching fire have recently surfaced on the web.

The issue came to light after a USA law firm filed a lawsuit against Samsung in New Jersey alleging some of Samsung's top-load washing machines exploded in owners' homes.

Earlier this month, Samsung announced a global recall of at least 2.5 million of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones in 10 markets due to faulty batteries causing some of the phones to catch fire, reported Reuters. However, CPSC has not specified any model. The publication did note that none of the Samsung top-loaders experienced this issue during its washing machine tests, though researchers did not wash bedding or bulky items.

Samsung's explosion woes do not seem to end as some washing machines in the United States made by the manufacturer are now reported to be faulty with some consumers claiming they have exploded. Check the link here.

Several reports has surfaced the internet that even the recalled and replaced Galaxy Note 7 that Samsung has provided still have battery issues.
