Facebook Live, the service that allows you to watch and create live videos from Facebook pages and accounts has been around for a while now and it's managed to introduce Mobile Broadcast Video to millions of people.
"We're focused on creating video experiences that people want, and we've heard that people want different options for how and where they watch videos that they discover on Facebook", stated the product director Brent Ayrey in an announcement. In a blogpost, Facebook announced users will be able to stream videos from Facebook feeds to their Television sets. Users who choose to get a reminder for the show in question will be pinged by Facebook in time before the broadcast starts. "Your fans can then join a pre-broadcast lobby directly before the live video starts, where they can connect and interact with other viewers".
Facebook has put a lot of energy - and money - into attracting publishers to adopt Facebook Live for their broadcasts.
Features like this notification actually amplify its use case, making it easier to not only build an audience for a broadcast but also increases the likelihood of engagement with live content. The new feature will initially be available to Verified Pages starting Thursday and admins can schedule Live Videos via the Facebook Live API. In other words: It would be a lot more like TV.

Users can schedule a Live broadcast up to a week in advance.
Be sure to write an engaging and informative description so your followers know what to expect from your broadcast. Once they've viewed the announcement, followers can elect to be notified shortly before the stream goes live. You will be able to update the description later if you want to.
Right now the ability to schedule broadcasts is rather limited in scope, but that's going to change quickly.
