Broncos promote Juwan Thompson with CJ Anderson on IR

Even after surgery to fix Anderson's torn meniscus, there were questions about how long he was going to be out.

The Broncos have yet to provide an official timetable for Anderson's recovery, but they could activate him off injured reserve if he's healed at some point during the playoffs.

Still, few quads are better equipped than Denver to replace Anderson, and Gary Kubiak's system will help ease any new running back in.

The Broncos ran for 190 yards against the Texans on Monday night and were feeling good about their suddenly surging ground game until Tuesday afternoon when Anderson showed up with a sore right knee.

Coincidentally, the Broncos play the Chargers on Sunday but it seems as if the No. 1 and 2 running backs will be Devontae Booker and Kapri Bibbs with Thompson receiving the leftover carries.

In Thompson, the Broncos have added an experienced and versatile back.

Thompson is in his third season as a Bronco and has played in 30 career regular-season games for the team.

Over the first two months of the season, Anderson rushed for 437 yards and four touchdowns while catching 16 passes for 128 yards and a score. "Obviously he's been working really, really hard here and we're going to have to make a decision". "I don't know. We'll see".
