California Governor Brown officially proclaims November 11 as Veterans Day

Interesting thing No. 1: Currently, Veterans Day is celebrated on the 11th day of the 11th month. In addition to confronting Islamic extremists throughout the world, we maintain bases in most every country we've done battle in.
If you know or see any veterans, be sure to offer them your appreciation for protecting our great country.
Armistice Day became Veterans Day officially in the United States in 1954, but is still widely observed as Armistice Day in Europe.
In honor of Veterans Day, I want to tell you about a little-known program that's honoring the sacrifices of our nation's wounded veterans.

Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day, which honors those who died in military service.
Veterans Day is an ideal time to thank a veteran and, perhaps, to welcome him or her back home. There are no living World War I vets. Iraq and Afghanistan veterans still carry many unhealed wounds both mental and physical.
