A mysterious bright light streaked across the night sky in Florida this week.

The footage shows the moment the fireball - or meteor - approaches Earth and explodes in a flash.

The bright flash was captured on the dashboard cameras of several cruisers belonged to the North Point Police Department in west Florida.
