IT Dept seizes Rs. 66 lakh cash in new notes in Hyderabad

In the second incident in the same city on December 17, department investigators along with police intercepted a speeding Honda Activa in the Tank Bund area.
Kochi: In the course of a surprise raid conducted by the Income tax investigation unit in Kochi, the IT officials are reported to have recovered around Rs 70 lakhs of unaccounted cash from Karuna Medical College Trust in Pallakad. During the course of the raid, the officials seized a total of Rs 70 lakhs where Rs 50 lakhs were in the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
According to IT sources, the team had intercepted certain persons who ran into a nearby apartment. "Cash of Rs30 lakh in Rs2000 denomination was found with two persons.The case is being probed", they said.
