Danny Dyer *will* be taking a break from EastEnders, the BBC has confirmed.
Danny had hinted last month about leaving the show as his current contract is up for renewal later in the year. He is now in the midst of a few complicated storylines that sees him struggling with financial difficulties as well as getting his head around that kiss with daughter-in-law Whitney.
The source said: "At the end of the day, he remains the biggest star of the show - so everyone is determined to get him back to his best". A lot of scripts had to be torn up and it's caused a lot of behind-the-scenes chaos. He told the Daily Star he'd be interested in playing the next Doctor: "I could see myself in the scarf and all that. I'd keep my accent too".
