Vodafone To Create 2100 New Customer Service Roles In UK

Six hundred positions in Newcastle, 200 in West Scotland and 100 in Cardiff will be made at Vodafone's third party partners.
Vodafone aims to enhance the quality of its United Kingdom customer services operations as part of its £2 billion investment program over the 2016-19 period.
In a statement, the company said that the new roles would "enhance quality of service for Vodafone's customers as part of [a] three-year £2bn investment programme in its United Kingdom network and services".
The company is creating around 800 new jobs at its existing customer services centre in Manchester, nearly 150 new jobs at that in Newark, over 150 new jobs at its Stoke centre, and around 100 new roles in Glasgow.
The scheme marks one of the largest employment expansions within the United Kingdom in recent years, and the jobs will be filled out in the coming years.
An investigation by the communications watchdog found that more than 10,000 pay-as-you-go customers lost a total of £150,000 when Vodafone failed to credit their accounts after they paid to top up.

The newspaper quoted Nick Jeffery, chief executive of Vodafone's United Kingdom business, as commenting that the rollout would make a "real difference" to its service.
The company, which has 18 million United Kingdom customers, already employs 3,700 customer service workers in the country either directly or through outsourcing.
Karen Bradley, the UK's Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport, hailed the announcement as "proof that Britain is well and truly open for business", and said that "Vodafone is one of [the UK's] great worldwide success stories".
She said that the move demonstrates Vodafone's "confidence in the UK".
