UFC 210: Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson retires from MMA after losing title fight
Apr 10 2017 by Marjorie Miles
There was dead silence in the room as people were thinking the 205-pound title fight would not take place because Cormier had just missed weight. The New York State Athletic Commission wouldn't let Gonzalez compete in the women's strawweight fight because she has breast implants, but Gonzalez was cleared to fight later in the afternoon. "I don't think any eyes are going to be closing except for his", said UFC light heavyweight challenger Anthony Johnson.
Cormier (18-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) will put his belt on the line on Saturday in a rematch against Johnson (22-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC).
It is unclear what Johnson intends to do at this point, offering up no information beyond stating that he is not leaving the UFC for another promotion. The former Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix champion boasts wins over bigger men like Josh Barnett, Frank Mir and a highlight reel knockout over Antonio "Big Foot" Silva in 2011.
The main event features a rematch for the light heavyweight title as Daniel Cormier defends against Anthony Johnson. "I didn't want you guys to see my junk", Cormier explained to assembled media.
"OK, I didn't. I didn't see that", Giardina said.

Cormier jawed with No. 4 ranked contender Jimi Manuwa immediately after the bout and then talked trash with perhaps the class - and considered, the uncrowned champ -of the division, Jon Jones.
Maybe Daniel Cormier should be a magician when he retires from the fight game. So he lost 1.2lbs in three minutes.
"I'm more grateful now for the things I've been able to accomplish than I was back when I was accomplishing them", he said.
"It's not the way I wanted to win". But he's fought just three times over the past four years. Get live updates from each bout on the card right here.
