Angels: J.C. Ramirez will make his fifth appearance and second start on Wednesday night.
Jake Marisnick also homered on Thursday in a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
"The zeroes that our team put up, Devenski comes in and does what Devenski does, Luke comes in and has a clean inning and that's probably the best Giles has pitched and looked in a while for him", Houston manager A.J. Hinch said. "He did both of those tonight". He struck out five and rebounded after allowing five runs in 4 1/3 innings in his last outing.
Beltran's home run Thursday came with one out and the first inning off Matt Shoemaker (0-1), and Marisnick's second homer this season made it 2-0 in the fifth. Trout is hitting.083 (1 for 12) with a home run against McCullers in his career.
Harrington's third ejection came after arguing a called strike during the second inning of Saturday's series finale against Louisiana-Monroe.
"It was huge", Reddick said of his performance. "Not just my day, but in general to be able to drive in runs and score them at the same time".
In the first inning, Jose Altuve lined an 0-1 pitch to right field. Heading into this series, Yunel Escobar held 16 hits, 10 runs and four RBI, while Mike Trout was right there as well on 16 hits, six runs and 10 RBI. He's gone 10 for 34 after getting just one hit in his first 20 at-bats this season. They were 7-0 entering the game when getting eight or more hits.
"He pitched a great game", Angels manager Mike Scioscia said.
Ramirez (2-2) gave up three runs on six hits, striking out nine and walking one in 5 1/3 innings. The right-hander improved from his first career start Friday against Kansas City where he was tagged for five runs in five innings.
"I felt like I threw the ball well tonight", he said.
The pitching staff supported Houston's offense Monday night. I think looking at the guys in the clubhouse...
Headed our way on Wednesday, the Los Angeles Angels and the Houston Astros will be continuing their Major League Baseball series. Correa took batting practice and fielded ground balls prior to Wednesday's game. "He's got some questions to answer but things are pointing in the right direction", Hinch said. "Today is a big day for him to get into baseball again". Perez was 1 for 13 with an RBI this season and had not played since Sunday.
Hours after the Big 12 Conference school announced Tuesday that its opener was being moved back a day to accommodate television, Texas Tech said the game would remain on September 2 as originally scheduled. "Juan is a really good fit up here".
