Cleveland Browns: Joe Haden Should Want Myles Garrett on His Defense
Apr 21 2017 by Marjorie Miles
The Cleveland Browns hold the first pick in the 2017 NFL Draft on Thursday night. If the Bears wanted to trade down from No. 3 overall to, say, No. 8 overall - which is worth 1,400 points - the team holding the eighth selection would have to give to the Bears draft picks that make up the 800-point difference between the two.
Sashi Brown, the executive VP of football operations for the Browns, downplayed the notion that his team was never all that interested in acquiring him when they traded with the Houston Texans in March.
Trubisky started only 13 games for the Tar Heels, and his lack of experience could deter teams ahead of the Browns from taking him.
Or will it be Myles Garrett, the defensive end out of Texas A&M University, who recorded 7.5 sacks and 33 tackles, along with two passes defended a year ago for the Red Raiders?
Garrett, a 6-foot-4, 272-pound sack specialist, is the consensus top player available and the Browns, who went 1-15 last season, will have first crack at him. Brown told the media they had received calls about the No. 1 pick, and one in particular called about trading up to draft a quarterback.
Brown was asked if the team is concerned about Trubisky's truncated history as a college starter after Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said this week: "The question is why wasn't all that talent starting for the last three years?"
Messi eyeing 500 as Barca bid to reignite season in Clasico
Ronaldo has 16 goals in 26 matches between the clubs, the third-best mark behind Messi and Madrid great Alfredo Di Stefano. Barcelona has won only two of its last five games, with losses to Juventus in the Champions League and Malaga in La Liga.
Support for marijuana legalization at all-time high
Brohl spoke Wednesday to a panel of IL lawmakers considering a proposal to make marijuana use legal in the state. Even if you show up for work as sober as a judge, you can be fired for flunking a drug test in most states.
Cavs' J.R. Smith questionable for Game 3 with sore hamstring
The Cavs' first two playoff games have shown just how hard defending their National Basketball Association title is going to be. They were playing great, I don't think we were making them uncomfortable, I don't think we were being physical with them.
Here's a look at five trades we think should happen during the first round of this year's draft. "He's done a good job coming in the first couple days, a positive young man who has some ability and talent". "We feel good about where we are going to be and who we're going to pick there".
Jackson saw things his own way with Griffin and Kessler previous year, and as Sashi Brown says of the 2017 decision, "We lean tremendously on Hue".
The Browns worked out Trubisky and have spent a lot of time with him. We have said the draft is going to be the pipeline. If you look at the 2018 free agent class you will find names like Kirk Cousins, Sam Bradford, Jimmy Garoppolo and Matthew Stafford. "It's no mystery that Mitch hasn't played in a lot of them".
"We are not trying to take some approach where it is this draft or bust", he said.
Said Brown: "We don't comment on all the rumors". We've studied this around the league, and it's just our inclination. "We don't get flustered by it".
