The Nintendo Switch is selling fast and breaking records at Nintendo.

This was all enough to make The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild the fastest-selling Nintendo launch game of all time, as well as the fastest-selling game ever in The Legend of Zelda series.

In a press release shared a few hours ago, Nintendo announced that NPD data confirmed that the Switch sold over 906K console units in the United States during last month. The Switch is still selling faster than they can replenish stock, though, so it could also be that some players bought the game and are waiting for a console to play it on.

The company also pointed out that March is a "nontraditional month" for a new console release.

According to Nintendo, over 906,000 Switch consoles were sold in the month of March, making it the company's fastest selling console to date. Not to mention: its March launch is highly unusual for a brand-new console, as it's traditional to aim releases for the holiday season.

One police officer killed, another wounded in Paris shooting
Earlier this week, two men were arrested in Marseille whom police said had been planning an attack ahead of the election. He was then shot dead and an anti-terror investigation is under way into the attack in the heart of the French capital.

The initial success of the Switch - which works as both a TV-linked console and a portable device - is directly tied to Nintendo's classic video game franchise "The Legend of Zelda", according to analysts.

We knew the Nintendo Switch was off to a good start, based on USA sales numbers from March NPD numbers, but now it appear that the young upstart console has broken Nintendo's expectations with more than 2.4 million units sold worldwide.

Nintendo has recently offered concrete numbers about how strong their sales were for the latest "Legend of Zelda" game and the Nintendo Switch. And the Nintendo Switch therefore has broken all records. This means the Switch's attach rate exceeds 100%, which is a massive feat to say the least. The breakdown of copies between the Switch and Wii U is 925,000 and 460,000 copies respectively.

A lot of Nintendo fans that are insane collectors of games and they do not back off from purchasing more than one copy of a game at once.

Have you been able to pick up a Nintendo Switch yet? Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is launching on April 28th, while ARMS and Splatoon 2 are headed to the console this summer.
