United in grief, Facebook killer's ex-girlfriend meets victim's family

Stephens had been on the run for almost 48 hours after posting grisly video on Facebook of himself shooting and killing 74-year-old Robert Godwin, Sr.at 695 East 93rd Street in Cleveland.
"Each one of us forgives the killer, the murderer", Godwin-Baines said Monday.
But Godwin's daughters, Tonya R. Godwin-Baines and Debbie D. Godwin, wanted to reassure Lane that Stephens' actions were not her fault and that she shouldn't blame herself. He shot and killed himself in Pennsylvania following a short police pursuit, bringing a three-day manhunt to a close, authorities said.
Lane said her and Stephens were romantically involved for a while and had discussed getting married.
"The hashtags Joy Lane, Joy Lane massacre, I don't even know who Joy Lane is anymore, or how to pick up all the pieces of my world at this moment", Lane told WJW.
"I've got a lot of negative comments".
"We don't hold any ill-feelings towards you, not even towards Steve".

According to Pennsylvania state police, "As the vehicle was spinning out of control from the PT manoeuvre, Stephens pulled a pistol and shot himself in the head."There were no injuries to the public or the police reported".
State police caught up to Stephens quickly and gave chase. "We would prefer that it had not ended this way because there are a lot of questions, I'm sure, that not only the family, but the city in general would have had for Steve". "Because I know that he's a sick individual", Debbie said.
