Twitter is planning to constantly live stream video content 24/7

Previous statistics show that making video streaming a 24/7 option may be the direction for Twitter.

Twitter might even announce some of the shows that will be available on its 24/7 live broadcasts at NewFronts. Noto did mention that the company is "working on many, many things", however. Though it would take some for the micro-blogging platform to turn the 24/7 video content into reality, but it could prove to be the winning formula for the company which is trying to get through a series of rough patches that it has experienced in the recent time. The company went through a long period of subpar user growth and dips in revenue, but Noto is convinced that live video has a legitimate shot at reviving Twitter's performance.

The idea behind always-on video is that it'll give Twitter many more chances to sell valuable 15- and 30-second unskippable video ads.

"Our goal is to be a dependable place so that when you want to see what's happening, you think of going to Twitter", said Noto. But he indicated much more programming in the works. "We're working on many, many things", he told BuzzFeed News. The main question now will be whether they can build a quality content pipeline to fill the days, and whether they can manage to do so before the ongoing shift to digital delivery models for traditional TV service providers reaches its zenith. However, it's expected that Twitter's shows won't compete with the likes of Netflix's or HBO Now's shows which require audiences' full attention. "We think that is a great way to have the programming carried along with you during your day", Noto said.

"Focus in on it when you hear something that's of interest, but then maybe not be 100 percent focused on it when it's not of interest", the executive said.

Earlier this month, The Telegraph reported that Twitter hopes to sign content deals with pay-TV companies that would allow you to access live channels over the social network. Twitter will also introduce some of its new shows at this event. He further added, "I did that myself during the debates".
