Local, state unemployment rates take strong dip in April

The unemployment rate in the Orlando metro area was 3.6 percent. It also noted that in the previous year, 371,000 people entered Florida's labor force, a growth of 3.8 percent, while the national labor-force growth was 0.8 percent.
Lake County's unemployment rate was 3.9 percent, down from 4.3 percent in March and down from 4.6 percent a year ago. The U.S. unemployment rate was 4.4 percent in April.
In March, when state employers expanded their payrolls by a meager 200 positions, the nation added a disappointing 98,000 jobs.
