Trump delays return to United States, delivers quick victory speech

Trump told service members at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy, that they are the greatest force for peace and justice the world has ever seen, the U.S. Department of State, said.
"We traveled the world to strengthen long-standing alliances and to form a new partnership among nations devoted to the task of eradicating the terrorism that plagues our planet", Trump said.
But while Trump told the troops that his meetings with global leaders have restored his confidence in the strength of America's alliances, he stressed that the joint effort to defeat terrorism would not be possible without the American men and women who dedicate their lives to military service.
His second stop was in Israel and Palestine, where he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. After Trump received a royal welcome in Saudi Arabia, where he signed a multi-billion dollar arms deal, he went on to the Vatican for a meeting with the Pope, then to Brussels for a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit, finishing up his trip in Sicily for a G7 meeting.

As the G7 summit came to a close Saturday, the six other members - Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Canada and Japan - renewed their commitment to the accord. Other G-7 nations leaned heavily on Trump to stay in the climate deal, with German Chancellor Angela Merkel saying "we put forward very many arguments". "I think we hit a home run no matter where we are".
"The US is now paying much more than any other nation and that is not fair to the United States or the United States taxpayer".
During the summit he didn't mention support for Article 5, which is NATO's commitment to mutual defense in the event of an attack on a member.
The 28 member nations, plus soon-to-join Montenegro, will renew an old vow to move toward spending 2 percent of their gross domestic product on defense by 2024. I will tell you a big difference over the a year ago.
