Egyptians in Qatar fear being swept up in Gulf crisis

The Gulf countries ordered their citizens out of Qatar and gave Qataris overseas 14 days to return home to their peninsular nation, whose only land border is with Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Trump's comments come as Saudi Arabia and three other Arab countries have officially severed ties with Qatar and moved to cut off land, sea and air routes to the energy-rich nation that is home to a major US military base, accusing it of supporting regional terror groups.
KARACHI, Pakistan Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is in talks to bring back Pakistani passengers of Qatar Airlines stranded in Doha after Saudi Arabia and four other Arab countries cut off ties with Qatar, an official said on Tuesday.

The Saudi-led coalition battling Iran-backed rebels in Yemen said it had expelled Qatar from the group for providing "support to [terrorist] organizations" there.
The Gulf states and Egypt banned all flights to and from Qatar and ordered Qatari citizens to leave within 14 days.
Qatar Airways flights to and from locations in the United States and Europe will be largely unaffected, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Because of such worries, the Qatari riyal fell in the spot market on Tuesday to 3.6470 against the USA dollar, its lowest level since June 2016, although it later rebounded to 3.6405, nearly equal to its official peg of 3.64. Eight months later, they returned their ambassadors as Qatar forced some Brotherhood members to leave the country and quieted others.

Qatar hosts the largest U.S. airbase in the region, which is crucial in the fight against Islamic State group jihadists, and is set to host the 2022 football World Cup.
Rohan Gurung, General Secretary of Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies, said: "Question has arisen over what happens to Nepalis working in branches of Qatari companies in other countries which severed ties with Qatar".
Qatar denied allegations over its support to terrorism and extremism adding that the diplomatic rift was based on "baseless fabricated claims".
The dispute comes less than a month after US President Donald Trump visited Saudi Arabia and called for Muslim nations to unite against extremism. An Omani diplomat also has been in Qatar.
Kuwait's state-run KUNA news agency said the emir, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, urged Qatar's ruling emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to "exercise self-restraint and refrain from steps that would escalate the situation".
Qatar has an independent streak that has often angered its neighbours.
Qatar has dismissed the terrorism charge and welcomed a Kuwaiti mediation effort.
The emirate has directly and indirectly supported Islamist groups across the Arab world, including the Muslim Brotherhood.
