Columnist Kirsten Powers: 'How was Sen. Harris hysterical?'

Share

Kamala Harris (D-CA) "hysterical" for her Russian Federation questions during Attorney General Jeff Sessions' congressional testimony - and the comment earned him censure from fellow panelist Kirsten Powers. She's getting her feet under her on the national stage. She served two terms as San Francisco's first female district attorney and was the first woman elected as California's attorney general. Her late mother, Dr. Shyamala Gopalan Harris, was a breast cancer researcher who came to the U.S.in 1960. There was no reason for her to not display the prosecutorial skills and intellectual acuity that have shaped her career.

Brzezinski said, "A secondary story given the nature of the questions being asked, but an important story". This, at a time when shady people in high places apparently stole the 2016 election, and sold out the country to Vladimir Putin. They can hold him in contempt of Congress if he refuses to do so.

As the Huffington Post points out, "Neither Sen".

SESSIONS: I believe they are. "Did you not ask your staff to see the rule that would be the basis of your refusing to answer..." Jeff Sessions was colorful and indignant. To be frank, there is no brain trust in this White House.

Sessions was asked pointed questions by Harris about policies from the Department of Justice he was citing as the reason he was unable to answer certain questions during his testimony.

I watched both Senate Intelligence hearings over the past couple of weeks, and am not the least surprised that Harris rolled on Sessions and the other Trump officials in the manner that she did.

Shamefully, but predictably, the attorney general's stall tactic worked.

"You knew that you would be asked these questions when you relied on that policy", Harris interjected.

England were breached a second time when they were hit on the break just before half-time as Dembele burst forward. This, however, was an uncomfortable night for a player Southgate will be counting on in the future.

We all know us some Kamala Harrises. I mean, comparing Harris to Sen.

Should I interrupt you the same way all the men interrupted her? "It makes me nervous".

Back to the hearing.

As with Sessions, Harris never got her answer before time expired. John McCain (R-Ariz.) cut in and appealed committee chairman Sen. Let's listen to this exchange, starting with Senator Warner. Like Heinrich, Harris interrupted Sessions.

Burr cut off Harris' questions last week as she tried to question Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Rosenstein dodged the question, replying, "Senator, I'm very sensitive about time and I'd like to have a very lengthy conversation and explain that all to you". I hope you can let this go.

But before Rosenstein could answer, McCain interrupted. When a woman is asking strong questions and wants an answer, there is a different treatment on the part of witnesses.

Harris: Are you willing or are you not willing to give him the authority to be fully independent of your ability, statutorily or legally, to fire him? Are you willing to do ... It didn't seem like he made any effort to try to get to the bottom of things.
