A 35-year-old woman was picked up from Gurugram in Haryana and allegedly gangraped in a moving auto.

The police is waiting for the results of medical tests that were conducted on her this morning.

The woman was allegedly abducted from Sohna in Gurgaon and dumped in Greater Noida after an eight-hour assault, which put the spotlight on the safety of women in national capital Delhi and areas surrounding it. At around 8-8:30 pm yesterday, some people, driving a Swift vehicle, dragged her inside and raped her on the roads of Sohna.

A female passerby found the victim lying unconscious on the road near Kasna police station in Greater Noida.

A police team is visiting the location for investigation. "She was allegedly raped in the auto while the accused were driving around", said Suniti, superintendent of police (Noida Rural), said.
