Kushner spoke Monday about efforts to update how the federal government functions, addressing fellow members of the Trump administration and business leaders, including Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Prior to the meeting, the administration sought to downplay tensions between Silicon Valley and the White House. Kushner has said through his private attorney that he will cooperate with all inquiries, including the Mueller probe and a pair of congressional committee investigations.
