The parents of 25-year-old Reality Winner sat down with Anderson Cooper of CNN on Tuesday night and tried to explain their daughter's mindset when she leaked classified information to a website.
Reality Leigh Winner, a National Security Agency contractor with a top-secret clearance, became the first person to be jailed by the Trump administration after being accused of leaking classified information this week.
Winner's mother, Billie Winner-Davis, told the court her daughter had never been in any trouble and was at the top of her class throughout her school days.
Victor remains in a county jail in Lincoln County, Georgia, while she awaits a detention hearing on Thursday, officials said.
This June 2017 photo released by the Lincoln County (Ga.) Sheriff's Office, shows Reality Winner. The Intercept said the report was dated May 5, 2017, and that it provided "most detailed US government account of Russian interference in the election that has yet come to light".
In the online story, The Intercept even states that the paper anonymously received the report.
In late May, Winner took her brief trip to Belize, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and her social media postings.
German minister sees hope of 'soft' Brexit
May's letter triggering the so called Article 50 exit procedure is still the most detailed document on the UK's intention. However, the slide also emphasised that what's important for the Pound right now is the shape of any Brexit agreement.

The pay-per-view (PPV) event will be broadcast on Showtime with the figure possibly reaching that astronomical $ 1 billion figure. The Straight Blast Gym head-coach tweeted "10 weeks #McGregorVsMayweather" alongside an image of himself and The Notorious One.
The charge victor faces carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The other major consideration is whether or not she presents any type of danger to the community, " Tarver said. If it had not been leaked, the public would still have nearly no inkling about how diligently Russian hackers worked to penetrate U.S. voting systems in the view of the USA intelligence community.
"The only thing perhaps more unsafe than leaks of classified information is the politicization of leaking", De said.
"These funds will be able to assist with loss of wages, counseling from this traumatic experience and to be able to recover from this as Reality & her family rebuilds their lives", the account page, originated by Shirley Fink of Fairfax, Va., states. The NSA figured out that the document had been printed because the Intercept, when seeking comment, showed the agency a scanned image that revealed folds and creases. "She is in good spirits and she is looking forward to her next hearing". "Her words to me were that she was really scared that they would make her disappear", Davis said. Prosecutor Jennifer Solari says investigators seized a notebook from Winner's house in Augusta, Georgia, and in it, victor made references about traveling to the Middle East.
Prosecutors plan to ask a judge to deny bond for 25-year-old Reality Winner, according to court records filed in the case.
The Department of Justice has said victor admitted to the accusations against her, but Nichols, told the Associated Press "if there is a confession, the government has not shown it to me". A spokesperson told ABC News that members of the organization are concerned that the information contained in the NSA report was not previously shared with local officials and released a statement urging better sharing of information. Nichols said he hasn't seen anything that would lead him to believe victor is guilty of these charges. Much is unknown, as the public is made to depend upon the potentially unreliable claims of government prosecutors, while victor is held in jail without any contact with the public.
"She's a patriot. She served her nation with distinguished honor", Gary said, CBS reports.
