Uddhav flays 'vote-bank politics', hints at breaking ranks for Prez polls

Congress MLA Nitesh Narayan Rane took a dig at Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday when he wrote a letter to Guinness World Record, requesting to register a record in the right-wing party's name for its numerous empty promises to withdraw support from the Maharashtra government.
"First of all I thank Shiv Sena for reposing faith, confidence and trust in Mohan Bhagwat but it has dialed a wrong number". Uddhav dared his ally to announce mid-term polls and the Sena was prepared to meet the challenge.
With the Sena realising how much the BJP needs it for July's presidential polls, the saffron party is pushing for a hard bargain. The Sena is learnt to have pledged its support to NDA's candidate.
The BJP chief said the NDA government had taken up the cause of the downtrodden, women, tribals, farmers and weaker sections of society and did not have a single allegation of corruption against it.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state BJP chief Raosaheb Danve and Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar welcomed Shah after he landed at the Mumbai airport.
He also dared the BJP to call mid-term polls in Maharashtra and said Fadnavis-led regime would be singed by unrest among farmers. Uddhav's statement comes just a day after his meeting with BJP chief Amit Shah in Mumbai.
Dems say they'll slow Senate work over secretive care bill
Marco Rubio , R-Fla., voiced feelings many rank-and-file Republicans share about the process during a Sunday show appearance. Senate Republican leaders would like a vote on healthcare legislation in July, before the July 4 recess if possible.
Benjamin Netanyahu warns Iran to not threaten Israel
Netanyahu has been a vocal opponent of the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, charging that Tehran is aiming to achieve nuclear weapons. Iran refers to the missile as medium-range, however, it's approximately 465-mile range falls under short-range specifications.
While a host of BJP and Sena leaders were present at the Thackeray home, none of them were part of the meeting.
Shah said the Modi government brought an end to politics of appeasement and dynastic rule.
In an embarrassment for the ruling BJP, its ally Shiv Sena has virtually joined ranks with the state opposition parties demanding complete loan waiver for farmers and on other major issues confronting the state. "We shall fully support them", he said sarcastically. The total value of MP votes of UPA is 10,620. If polls are held then I am confident that we will emerge victorious.
Union Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu met Union Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan and held discussions over the Presidential election. They can also win the Presidential elections.
Against the backdrop of a speculation that mid-term polls could be in offing in Maharashtra, he said Sena is not unduly anxious about the snap polls, but is more concerned about suicides being committed by farmers.
