The previous record held by Delhi saw the participation of 35,985 people at Rajpath, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the first International Yoda Day in 2016.
PM Modi earlier today kicked off the International Yoga Day celebrations along with various other stalwarts from the political landscape and people across the nation despite early morning rains. Stating that India has earned reputation by popularising yoga worldwide, Meghwal lauded the Prime Minister for his efforts to initiate the observations of "International Yoga Day" all over the world. "Now, it has become part of every person's life", he said.
