The Brian Head Fire continues to rage Tuesday, as the winds Monday made the large blaze expand to almost 50,000 acres Tuesday morning.
Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey said in statement Wednesday that the fire is the state's top priority. She said it has been an "emotional rollercoaster" for her and her grandparents, who live part of the year at a cabin near the fire.
The blaze burning in Riverside County about 80 miles (129 kilometers) east of Los Angeles is only 10 percent contained Tuesday morning.
The fire, dubbed the Manzanita Fire, started about 3:10 p.m. on Lambs Canyon near Dump Road following a single vehicle crash, the Riverside County Fire Department said in a news release.
The fire was ignited by human activity, but officials said they were still investigating the precise cause.

Firefighters in Southern California were battling a fast-moving wildfire on Sunday that closed a highway and forced residents from their homes around the area of Santa Clarita, a city north of Los Angeles, authorities said.
