Users can also choose to mute notifications from users who haven't confirmed their phone number or email address as part of today's update. The new updated feature meant to give the users more control however does not block people; it just makes sure that one doesn't receive notifications from them. And now that comes on Twitter platform.
The microblogging website said its "advanced filter settings" will now have options for users to mute notifications from accounts that they do not follow as well as from accounts that do not follow them.
Twitter recently took a step to restrict abusive behavior on its platform.
Today, the company has added options (find them in Settings Notifications Advanced Filters) that'll let you automatically mute any user 1) who doesn't follow you, or 2) who has a brand-new account.
Users can now filter low-quality content from notification. These new filter options further add to it. They will now be able to Mute accounts that don't follow them, new accounts and more. To try out the new filtering options from the Twitter app via your notifications (the bell icon along the bottom).
Two most popular social media, Twitter and rival Facebook both are now bombarded with criticism as they somehow fail to handle fake news and cyber-Bullying on their platform.
