NBA Announces Warriors' Opening Night, Christmas Day Opponents


Cleveland and Boston will play an Eastern Conference finals rematch earlier that night to begin the 2017-18 season, the league announced Thursday.

To get the week and season started on October 17, we'll get a rematch of the most recent Eastern Conference Finals on TNT as the Boston Celtics go on the road to take on the Cavaliers.

The holiday matchup against the Wizards, who fell to the Celtics in a grueling seven-game series during the Eastern Conference Semifinals, will start at 5:30 p.m.

The James Harden/Chris Paul era will begin at Oracle Arena when the Rockets open the 2017-18 season against the defending champion Golden State Warriors.

As for Christmas Day, there will once again be five games, with the festivities tipping off at noon ET at Madison Square Garden, where the New York Knicks will host the up-and-coming Philadelphia 76ers.
