The "Party Up" rapper is now out on bail on charges of tax evasion - to the tune of $1.7 million, according to the IRS - for which he first appeared in court on July 14.
However, on Friday morning the judge took it easy on DMX, keeping him out of jail despite his travel violation-and despite the fact that the Ruff Ryders icon failed four separate drug tests for marijuana and cocaine, according to TMZ.
In July, the NY native whose birth name is Earl Simmons, was arrested on suspicion of tax evasion for allegedly owing the IRS more than $1 million in back taxes.
"He does have a rap sheet that does suggest more than a passing acquaintance with illegal drugs and more than a passing acquaintance with hand guns", Rakoff reportedly said.
