Pep Guardiola claims Premier League spending is 'unsustainable'

The Spaniard finished third in the Premier League last term - the first year of his managerial career in which he didn't win a trophy - while City also limped out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage to Monaco.
The first all Premier League clash in the country belonged to the Manchester club, with goals from Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Agüero and Raheem Sterling giving them a comfortable 3-0 victory and they will be hopeful to take that form into the start of the league campaign.
"The next year I had some offers from overseas and took the step towards Manchester City and had another great year". "People say in my first press conference we are favourites".
City paid Portuguese side Benfica £34.7 million for the Brazilian, making him the second-most expensive goalkeeper in history behind Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon. Hopefully the work we did last season - when being champions was not possible - we can see it this season because the work is done. But then there was in 2008 when we were a League One side, City were newly-crowned the "world´s richest club" already with many star players - and we beat them in the League Cup at our humble Withdean Stadium home. Everyone has witnessed the way a Guardiola team can play when Pep has the right players and everyone understands the tactics, as Guardiola has won the Champions League twice with Barcelona and has steamrolled the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich three times.
Danilo is a bit more defensive minded than Mendy and Walker but is still very good at keeping possession and holding onto the ball, which will suit City well when they are dominating possession and trying to break down their opponent.
"Keep doing what we've done in the last three games and it should be exciting".
"It´s important, but it´s not absolutely essential to get the season off to a winning start".
"For us there are some great examples of teams that have gone up and stayed up".
"Schalke is a great club and I had my professional debut there".
He said: "I think if you see the team last season and this season, (from) the four (pre-season) games we played, the fundamentals are the same".
"It is not just us". I´m going to be courageous and say the game will finish 4-0.
"I heard yesterday or today, Choupo-Moting also came to England".
But the Belgium global failed to convince Mourinho during their time together at Chelsea and will be playing in the Champions League proper for the first time. "I know it's a big responsibility considering I have become one of the most expensive goalkeepers". City, backed by the UAE, have again spent fortunes in the summer transfer market.
Both Mendy and Walker are very attacking full backs, which should suit the Guardiola system well this season, as both Mendy and Walker had 5 assists in their respected leagues last season.
