Clement calls for 'compromise' in Sigurdsson transfer saga

Gylfi Sigurdsson's proposed transfer to Everton remains deadlocked, with Swansea boss Paul Clement calling for "compromise" on both sides.

Swansea set a £50 million valuation for the Iceland global but the Daily Telegraph claim that Everton attempted to renegotiate the transfer's details.

A Swansea statement said that "although he continues to train well, Sigurdsson has featured in only one of the Swans' six preseason friendlies".

With Everton believed to value the player closer to £45m, Clement urged both clubs to meet in the middle so he can get on with his own plans to bolster his squad during this transfer window. "The objective is that at some point the clubs will meet (in valuation)".

Ronald Koeman has told the Daily Mail that Everton are very close to tying up a deal for Swansea City's Gylfi Sigurdsson. I heard some rumours that the talks broke down but we are still in negotiations with Swansea.

'He's happy here, he likes the work we're doing and he likes the way we play.

Guardiola: Man City to rein in spending after record outlay
Perhaps we've got to ensure that all our players give their all and hope that City are off-colour, but it can happen that way. As you know the Premier League is the main target. "I appreciate the good words about myself that Mourinho speaks".

Bills trade Watkins and Darby, acquire Jordan Matthews, EJ Gaines
Watkins' future in Buffalo was already in question after the Bills declined to pick up his fifth-year contract option in May. It could look something like the Tennessee Titans of last season, though similar efficiency is certainly not guaranteed.

"We haven't had many players going out and we have integrated three new signings".

"No deal been has been done with any club", Clement said.

"What is going on is not abnormal, a lot of situations like this take place and are happening at other clubs". He's a really good player and it's a shame with the injury he got in the summer. "But what you can't do is control the decision-making of the other club".

"Gylfi is an outstanding player and if he was to go I know it would be with a heavy heart", Rodgers said. Though he also serves fair warning that they will not drag this out until the final day, so if either Spurs or Chelsea truly want Barkley, we better get a move on.

'It is always a game between the buying club and the selling club but we are close and let's hope we get the agreement as soon as possible. Barkley, 23, is entering the final year of his deal at Goodison Park and has been linked with a move to Tottenham.
