'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' mints over Rs 13 crore on opening day!

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a story of a newly married couple, where the wife, disgusted by the open-defecation culture, lashes out and runs away from her husband's house. Before the film's release, Akshay also met PMModi. The film has completed its first day at the Box Office and is receiving a positive response from the audience. The film is supposed to pick up the momentum during the weekend, the film expected to cross the mark of Rs. 25 crores within 2 days. Though it faced box office clash with latest Hollywood cinemas in the worldwide market, the film got a huge response from the spectators. The film receives good footfall.
The film which opened in the box office without any competition did well on the first day with 30-35% occupancy in the theatres during the morning show.
The film might experience the sudden fall in the collection figures as there are rumors of film leak.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan forms the basic premise of "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" but Akshay says he did not do the film exclusively on the merit of the script.
