"A United Nations source told Agence France-Presse that the search of the camp in Maiduguri, known as the "Red Roof", was illegal under worldwide law and may have been triggered by inaccurate information that a key leader of the Boko Haram jihadists was at the base".
The raid which is first of its kind since Humanitarian Workers and Non Governmental Organizations trooped into the state in the name of cartering for the well being of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs in the north east.
At the end of the meeting, all those in attendance, including Shettima, proceeded to the United Nations property as a sign of good faith and to rebuild public confidence in humanitarian workers.
"I'm not here to elaborate on the incident, as his Excellency has already done this".
But a spokeswoman, for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Samantha Newport, condemned the raid, saying the army searched the building, without permission.
Kallon said that he was extremely concerned that the actions could be detrimental to the critical work that was being carried out every day to support the most vulnerable in the region, adding "I call upon the Government of Nigeria to provide clarification".
"Again I reiterate we here in support of the governmrnt of Nigeria".
"Furthermore, the relationship between the Nigerian Military and United Nations has been cordial, aimed at working towards a more secured world in general and Nigeria in particular, which will be sustained".

"In the last one week, cordon and search operations were conducted in Jiddari-Polo, Muna Garage, and Jakana amongst several other areas".
Rumors have spread that Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau may have been taking refuge in one of the United Nations buildings.
"On the whole, operation in the general area was successfully concluded but no arrest was made because the suspects were not found".
More than $650 million has been given by the global community to the response this year, though agencies say more is needed to keep the crisis from worsening.
Kallon said the United Nations and more than 50 non-governmental humanitarian organisations were working in support of the Government of Nigeria to support the vulnerable in the North-East Nigeria.
