Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper suffers ugly-looking knee injury
Aug 13 2017 by Marjorie Miles
The game between the Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants on Saturday started three hours late due to rain. His leg buckled, he went airborne and fell to the ground as his helmet went flying. The injury occurred when Harper attempted to beat out a groundball to the first baseman. But, when Harper hit first base, his left leg slipped on the bag, causing his knee to shoot straight back.
Major League Baseball was in control of weather decisions because it's the Giants' final trip to Washington this season.
Edwin Jackson (2-2, 3.75 ERA with Washington) of the Nationals was slated to face Chris Stratton (0-2, 6.63 ERA) of the Giants in the pitching matchup Friday.
