Boris Johnson defends UK's 'pitiful' response to Hurricane Irma

The volatile situation sparked by Hurricane Irma has led to a mass jailbreak in Tortola, one of the British Virgin Islands (BVI), where more than 100 "very serious prisoners" are now at large, the UK Minister for Europe and the Americas has said.
Days after Hurricane Irma destroyed parts of the Caribbean, residents throughout the island nations say they're in need of assistance amid reports of lack of food, shelter and in some cases violence.
Irma has killed 24 people so far, but none have been reported in Cuba.

But even with the power out across most of the country of 11.2 million people, the damage to inland Cuba appeared less than devastation wrought on smaller Caribbean islands.
Irma made landfall in Cuba overnight on Friday as a Category 5 storm, blasting into seaside towns and causing flooding in low-lying areas of Havana.
He added that while the death toll was low for a storm of this magnitude, the infrastructure on the island of Barbuda "no longer exists".
The video shows the hurricane blasting through the Atlantic, then through the Caribbean before landing in Florida. Irma has weakened-it had already been downgraded to a tropical storm before it hit Tampa-but it continues to dump massive amounts of rain onto Florida and Georgia.
