A school teacher, she testified that she taught Adams when he was in fourth grade and she spoke with him a few months after his daughter disappeared.
"He took her, he assaulted her, he slaughtered her, he disposed of her, he concealed it, he practically escaped with it", he said. Two men found her remains in the woods in Decatur County near Nashville in September 2014, authorities said.
Adams, who prosecutors say lived in a "dark, dark world" of methamphetamine, is accused of raping and murdering her and then trying to dispose of her body.
Adams is facing charges of felony first-degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated rape in Bobo's death and abduction.
Karen Bobo took the stand and collapsed when she was shown items that belonged to her daughter. She could be heard wailing as she lay on the ground while people in the public gallery rose to their feet in shock.
"It was the most exceedingly bad inclination you could feel, that something awful transpired of your children", Dana Bobo said. She returned to the stand 30 minutes later to carry on. The state called multiple witnesses to testify Tuesday, including Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper Warren Rainey, who said he visited Adams a week and a half after Bobo's disappearance and that Adams appeared visibly scared and was shaking.
Holly's mother identified Adams in court on Monday.
After she received medical attention, the trial resumed. The judge refused it.
Then a nursing student at the University of Tennessee, Bobo went missing in the woods behind her family's home in 2011.
Bobo's phone reportedly pinged near Adams' home on Adams Road. Clint Bobo called 911 to report his sister missing at about 8 a.m. that day.
"He took her, he raped her, he killed her, he discarded her, he covered it up, he nearly got away with it", Hagerman said, according to WREG-TV.
Jason Autry, who was friends with him at the time, later told police he saw them at Adams' home. He told Autry that he, his brother John Dylan Adams and a friend named Shayne Austin had kidnapped and raped Bobo.
Clint said he recognized Holly's voice as the female voice and believed the male voice was Holly's boyfriend Drew Scott.
In a confession which he has since retracted, John told officers his brother raped Holly and videotaped it.
Bobo was wrapped in a blanket and put inside a vehicle while Adams was in the process of getting rid of the body. Adams shot her in the head, his brother and Autry claimed. Her remains were found in woods in September 2014. Six men were arrested for their involvement.
Adams has pleaded not guilty kidnapping, raping and killing Holly Bobo, who was 20 when she disappeared from her home in the rural town of Parsons on April 13, 2011.
The defense claims Adams is not guilty and that no evidence or DNA has been found at his home.
Zachary Adams goes to trial Monday in Savannah, Tennessee, about 100 miles southwest of Nashville.
