Under DACA, undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S.as children are protected from deportation.
The federal government announced the end of the DACA program earlier this month, giving eligible residents until October 5th to submit final applications for new enrollments and renewals.
DACA, he said, was the last-straw. The authors said that rescinding DACA will have an adverse population-level effect on mental health, because removing legal protections from deportation reduces the likelihood dreamers will seek help for mental health issues.
US President Donald Trump will not necessarily insist on including funding for a border wall with Mexico in legislation to address protections for children brought to the United States illegally, a senior aide said on Tuesday.
Instead of the wall, a border security package could include using technology such as drones, sensors and air support, they said.
Shortly after Trump took office, the attorneys general of 10 Republican states, led by Texas, threatened to sue the president if he did not reverse DACA by September 5.

"It's frustrating to me because it's given me false hope", the 19-year old said, summing up her feelings after the whiplash day of DACA news in Washington. And the Immigration Legal Resource Center estimates that removing them will cost business owners across the country $3.4 billion in termination and replacement costs.
For others, getting rid of the temporary deferment was about law and order, a move meant to fortify American borders and enforce existing laws by forcing Congress to fish or cut bait on revisiting the rules of those who call the USA home.
"I don't think it's unclear to anybody what those campaign promises were, but it looks to me like he's preparing to keep Hillary Clinton's promise rather than his own". President Trump has urged Congress to do something and to do it right, and so they should. In July, I introduced the most recent version of the Dream Act with my friend Lindsey Graham, Republican of SC.
