Florida Gators to debut alternative alligator-inspired uniforms

Without further ado, I present to you Nike's gator-themed uniforms for the Florida Gators this weekend.

As the only Division I school in the country named the Gators, UF and Nike officials saw a unique opportunity that has been in the works for over two years. The jersey has an alligator skin pattern. The player numbers are orange trimmed with blue. It's the first time the gator head logo has appeared on their helmets.

The Gators jerseys will be swamp green covered in a tonal gator print. Saturday marks the first time Florida has gone away from its traditional orange and blue look.

The trousers and socks are also swamp green, but don't have the scaly pattern.

And, of course, what custom uniform is complete without special shoes?

UF is set to debut it's new, one-time, alternate uniform in a home matchup against the Texas A&M Aggies.

A&M turned the ball over three times and was -2 in the turnover battle, and the mistakes with ball security proved to be the difference in the game.
