I'm so impressed with you courageous ones.
"'GODDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT' you said that to my face", she wrote. Throw in the history of sexual assault allegations following brother Casey Affleck, and many are questioning the sincerity of Ben's post.
Hours after Affleck issued his statement saying, "I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn't happen to others", McGowan tweeted at Affleck, alleging that he'd seemed aware of Weinstein's mistreatment of women. We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters, ' Affleck's statement read. "We must support those who come forward, condemn this type of behaviour when we see it and help ensure there are more women in positions of power", he wrote.
Burton responded: "I didn't forgot". Burton then replied, "Seriously, thank you for that".
A rep for Affleck did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.
"Girls. I'm so impressed with you courageous ones", Burton, who is expecting her second child with The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, wrote in the tweet. So I did, and that's what I said to her.
Burton was 21 at the time, back in 2003, and described herself as "a kid".
The New York Times asked Rose McGowan if "she was asserting that Mr. Affleck knew about Mr. Weinstein's mistreatment of her because she had told him, and that she was accusing Mr. Affleck of lying".
Actress Asia Argento and a former aspiring actress named Lucia Evans went on the record to allege Weinstein forced himself on them sexually.
