The Telegraph reports that five Premier League clubs could move for the former Southampton man if Jose Mourinho decides to sell him during the January transfer window, with Manchester City and Everton also watching the developments.

Shaw has been linked with moves to a number of teams, but the two latest names to join the race are London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, according to the Metro. United are expected to listen to offers for Shaw in January.

Manchester United reportedly run the risk of losing Marouane Fellaini on a free transfer this summer as the Belgian midfielder weighs up his options at what promises to be a potentially crucial crossroads in his career.

United paid £30 million to sign Shaw from Southampton in 2014, but he has failed to make a good impression on Mourinho.

United are still second in the Premier League standings, but neighbours Manchester City are eight points ahead, while Tottenham are level and Chelsea just one point behind.

United have already invoked a 12-month option on Shaw's contract, extending it until 2019, but that is more to protect his value than anything.

We start with this report which broke on Friday: "Manchester United and Jose Mourinho have made no significant progress in talks over a new contract, sources have told ESPN FC".

Both Chelsea and Arsenal are believed to be considering making a move for Manchester United defender Luke Shaw, after the talented youngster has struggled to find a place in manager José Mourinho's starting eleven.
