A leading cyber security firm has created a mask of the human face, which responded to the Face ID feature and unlock the smartphone.
Apple said that it worked with professional mask makers and make-up artists to ensure that Face ID could not be tricked by masks. Instead of making a realistic mask, the security firm crafted an elaborate mask with the sole objective of beating Face ID and the iPhone X's depth mapping technology.

In any case, it appears that Apple remains confident enough in its Face ID feature that it will be used in all 2018 iPhone models and a new iPad also coming out next year.
