Case Keenum throws four touchdown passes in win over Redskins

The Vikings had just beaten Washington 38-30 at FedEx Field. The Vikings have a very physical and mobile line and it was on great display in this game.
Keenum, though, turned a bit wayward. He was emotional before the game about his comeback, shedding tears. "I'm just disappointed I wasn't able do get in on that". With Teddy Bridgewater active, Keenum needed to play well in order to keep his job, and he likely did enough. Otherwise the season might have been completely lost when Sam Bradford went down Now it's time to start planning Bridgewater's return date.
Players and coaches on both sides of the field noticed. Keenum's second half all but solidified that it's not "if" but "when" we will see him again. "People were open, creating separation, and there was a lot of production, a lot to build off of or to feel good about, but you can go down the line and point to ways that we could have scored 45 points as an offense". Instead Keenum went deep to Thielen, who ripped the ball down for a 49-yard pickup.
Know the rules. NFL players can now celebrate to the heart's content (sigh), but they can only use the football as a prop. Diggs used the goalpost as a prop on his tou1st-half touchdown reception.
After his TD, Diggs jumped on the padding of the goal post to give it a big hug. Diggs said he wanted to pay homage to service members, but the Vikings were penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct. In the numbers were not good, but the defense still made play after play to help the Vikings win the game.
"We're right where we want to be, but our work isn't over, " said defensive end Brian Robison. Zimmer's team is 7-2.

Robison moved into the starting lineup in place of Everson Griffen, who sat out with foot injury. The Vikings gave up almost double the 16.9 points they had allowed per game during the first half of the season.
Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 26 of 45 passes for one touchdown but did throw an interception.
It is also worth noting that the Redskins lead the Vikings 10-7 at seven at the end of the first quarter. - Morgan's touchdown was the first of his two-year career. The second one came on the first play of the fourth quarter and was returned 31 yards to the Minnesota 2. "Case is awesome, " Bridgewater said. "The ball was getting spread around to everybody".
"As receivers and in a passing game, you kind of look forward to those opportunities to let the ball loose and see how much you can score, and if it becomes a track meet, so be it".
That didn't lead to any points. He then had a 3-yard touchdown in the early 2nd Quarter to put Minnesota up 14-10. With two quarterbacks on the shelf, backup Case Keenum has been a blessing.
Things couldn't have started better for Keenum on Sunday.
