Nov 14 2017 by Francis Osborne
"As some of you know, my mother Gloria passed away recently and I canceled our shows last week to be with my family and make arrangements". When Fallon started hosting The Tonight Show in 2014, his biggest fan was in attendance along with his dad to support their son.
Jimmy Fallon returned to the Tonight Show on Monday for his first broadcast since his mother, Gloria Fallon, died earlier this month - and marked the occasion with one of his show's all-time emotional moments.
"She was the best audience", he told his "Tonight Show" audience on Monday, getting choked up in the process. "I just knew we were in trouble, you know?"
He added, "We're going to continue to work really hard to bring some light and some laughter into the world".
HTC reveals Vive Focus, a VR headset that cuts the cables
As previously announced , the Vive Focus runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip and uses inside-out positional tracking. Alongside this announcement, HTC also unleashed its new VR development platform, which will be utilised by the Focus.
During his tribute, Fallon recalled how his mother would squeeze his hand three times to signify "I love you".
The singer, 27, performed her new single "New Year's Day" while playing the piano following the late night host's monologue.
At one point she changed the lyrics of "New Year's Day", a track from her new album Reputation, to say, "Squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi". It was a handsome coincidence in a lovely performance. "Whatever you think of Taylor, she did something attractive for Jimmy and our show today, and we're forever grateful".
Fallon has spoken about his mother in the past, memorably in a 2004 interview with NY magazine. Thank you for watching, thank you for helping me and my family recover from this loss.
