Texas Assistant District Attorney fired after rant aimed at Uber driver

The Assistant Dallas County District Attorney who was recorded arguing with an Uber driver has been fired.

After a Dallas prosecutor was sacked from her job in the district attorney's office for an altercation with an Uber driver, she apologized Tuesday for her actions, saying she "was wrong".

Mr Platt again asked the woman to get out, but she remained inside his vehicle until police arrived.

What happened during the ride?

Matters took a turn for the worse when Warner told Platt to change his GPS-directed route, leading to him getting lost. "I want to go home so badly but you're so stupid I want the cops to come so that they can [expletive] you up, that's what I want".

The prosecutor allegedly slapped the driver on his shoulder.

"When you have a prosecutor who has tried sex assault cases for nearly a decade, you know the signs", Frizell said.

Platt: I'm waiting for the cops. The driver says he wants to wait for police. "I wanted the cops to show up so they could do something about it. I think this might be kidnapping right now, actually".

Platt says his passenger appeared intoxicated and when he tried making small talk, she became hostile.

District Attorney Faith Johnson contacted Platt and apologized to him for Warner's actions. Just take me home.

What did the cops do when they arrived?

But the law enforcement official simply asked him if he "was good" and when Platt reluctantly confirmed that he was, Warner left with the officer in his auto.

'She said "I'm the DA" and she said [to the cop], "Can I speak with you?' and he pulled her aside away from me," reiterated Platt. 'Then the cop said, 'You good?' and I said, 'I guess so.' I should've said, 'No, I'm not good.' It was intimidating. "I'm not going to follow through on your cases; I know I promised you all I would". Image via social media. However, instead of taking her into custody, authorities reportedly gave her a ride home.

'I'm an assistant district attorney so shut the [expletive] up, ' Warner is heard saying.

"We expect riders to treat drivers with respect".

Uber is also looking into the incident.

The Dallas District Attorney released a statement regarding Warner's termination, calling her behavior "contrary to this office's core principle of integrity, and it will not be tolerated".

Adding, 'As public servants, we represent the people of Dallas County and are examples of justice, professionalism, and ethical behavior both inside and outside of the courtroom.

"After careful consideration and a thorough investigation, I have chose to terminate Ms. Warner". Thus, he called 911 and hit record, according to the Dallas newspaper.

"I cringe whenever I hear or think about the things that I said that night". "It was unacceptable, and no one deserves to be called names".

"I embarrassed my family and I embarrassed myself", said Warner. I never assaulted my driver or touched him in any way.

'I said, "Should I make a left up here?' and she refused to answer me," explained Platt.

"When you've prosecuted sexual offenders for two years, I look at everyone a little differently".
