Two militants killed in Kashmir during gunfight with security forces

DIG North Kashmir, VK Birdi said that two militants were killed after they lobbed a grenade and fired on a police naka party in Sultanpora, Zacheldara in Handwara today evening. The militants are heard telling Ahmad not to approach the police and also warn him against joining politics.

He said the fire was returned by the security personnel and in the ensuing gunfight, two militants were killed.

The identity and group affiliation of the slain militants is being ascertained, the official said. Meanwhile, a search operation has been launched in the area. "The attack was repulsed and both the militants were killed", said the police.
