Panthers' Curtis Samuel out for Year With Ankle Injury
Nov 15 2017 by Marjorie Miles
Samuel was on crutches in the locker room, with his left leg heavily wrapped. Samuel, a product of Ohio State, played running back for the Buckeyes before shifting to wide receiver in the NFL.
Samuel caught 5 passes on 7 targets for 45 yards - all season-highs - before exiting to the locker room.
Samuel's improvement was one of the factors for why the Panthers traded wideout Kelvin Benjamin to the Buffalo Bills prior to the trading deadline.
He is scheduled to have surgery on the injured ankle and eventually be placed on injured reserve.
"There were a lot of good things", offensive coordinator Mike Shula said Tuesday of Samuel's game, according to the Panthers' official website.
