December Security Patch with KRACK fix for Nexus and Pixel Devices

Google Pixel 2 as seen on Play Store

The Android security bulletin is different from Pixel/Nexus bulletin as it talks about security patches done in Android patch level rather than just Google devices. More importantly, it prevents attackers from exploiting the KRACK vulnerability.

We've already reviewed the Pixel 2 XL and are now in the process of reviewing the OnePlus 5T, so we have a good understanding of which phone is best for users.

With the announcement of Android Oreo Go, and the imminent release of the final build of Android 8.1 Oreo, it makes sense for Google to bundle this month's security patches in with them. Along with this month's patch, the separate Nexus and Pixel Security Bulletin is also available.

The update also fixes the Krack WiFi security flaw which could have allowed hackers access to your device on unsecured WiFi networks.

Google's Android security bulletin for December is finally out, and it means that the now supported lineup of Pixel and Nexus phone should be getting new builds tomorrow.

The security patches included in this month's bulletin range from Android 5.1.1 all the way through Android 8.0 and also include a number of hardware based patches as well.
