Monster Hunter Stories Is Now Out On Smartphone In Japan Along With A Demo Version

Capcom's much anticipated Monster Hunter World is inching closer and closer to its release date on January 26, but before that, fans and newcomers to the series will have a chance to try hunting some monsters themselves.

Hunters gear up. The Monster Hunter: World Beta phase will kick off this Saturday, Dec. 9 at 9 a.m. PT and will end on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 8:59 a.m. PT, according to Capcom's announcement.

Elsewhere, you can pick from six different male and female hunter presets in the beta, as well as six Palico presets. In the Ancient Forest, you can hunt a fierce yet beginner-friendly Great Jagras or as a more experienced player confront the mighty threat of an Anjanath.

Participants can start downloading the "Monster Hunter: World" beta the day before the event and will need 5.9 GB of space for it. You can take on these quests in single player, or you can take with you up to three other friends. There will also be 14 different types of weapons to choose from, each offering different play styles and can be switched around during quests and while at camp.

Rewards: In addition to an unquantifiable amount of fun, complete each quest and you'll get some useful bonus items in the full game!

Hunting monsters in high-definition (HD) is about to become a virtual reality, as "Monster Hunter World" has just announced its the release of the beta version of the game.

I've never played Monster Hunter before, so this will be my first time playing the game, even if it's the beta.

Capcom unexpectedly released Monster Hunter Stories on iOS and Android in Japan and it is now available for 1,900 yen. Players who equip Aloy's armor set, which can be acquired through a future collaboration event quest, will make their character look exactly like the robot-slaying heroine.
