Marcus Peters Suspended for One Game by Kansas City Chiefs

Peters was visibly angry following a Chiefs penalty on the two-point conversion in the final minutes of the loss to the New York Jets.
"I'm not really going to get into the whole thing there, but I did what I thought was best for the Chiefs, and that's how I try to go about my business", said Reid on a conference call with the Bay Area media shortly after announcing the suspension. Peters will also be spending the week thinking about his action as he will not be allowed to practice. "I haven't made any decision either way", Reid said. He returned to the Kansas City sideline before the end of the game. The culmination of events came the first time the Chiefs played the Raiders when Peters landed an unnecessary hit on quarterback Derek Carr. "That was the wrong thing for him to do". What changed or led Reid to this decision is not clear, but it is obvious that the Chiefs have an identity problem - especially on defense.
Reid slept on it and made his decision known on Wednesday that Peters would miss the Raiders game. The frustration from the rise to a 5-0 start, and the fall to 6-6, has resulted in several meltdowns throughout the season.
The Raiders actually hold the tiebreaker over the Chiefs for the moment, but they won by only one point the first time these teams met, so this game is effectively for first in the division for the time being (although the Chargers hold a one point tiebreaker over the Raiders). Peters was flagged for throwing the flag (how about that for poetic justice?), and while he was not ejected, he took it upon himself to walk off of the field.
