FRANKFURT/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A us federal investigator probing alleged Russian interference in the 2016 usa presidential election asked Deutsche Bank for data on accounts held by President Donald Trump and his family, a person close to the matter said on Tuesday, but Trump's lawyer denied any such subpoena had been issued.
Jay Sekulow, a lawyer for Trump, denied the report, telling Reuters: "No subpoena has been issued or received".
"The latest news supports our view that Mr. Mueller is too conflicted to investigate the FBI and should step down in favor of someone more credible", the newspaper said. I don't. They said I made money from Russian Federation.
In June, the German bank rejected requests for account records by Democrats in the US House of Representatives to provide details of the president's finances.
Mueller is investigating alleged Russian attempts to influence the election, and potential collusion by Trump aides.
An internal investigation carried out by Deutsche Bank didn't yield any evidence of connections between the client relationship with Trump and the bank's mirror trades affair, a person briefed on the matter said.
Although the expenditures that took place between mid-May and September 30 for the special counsel's operations are relatively low compared with what many had anticipated, they could provide additional fodder for Republicans who have been critical of Mueller's work.
Deutsche Bank for months has rebuffed calls by Democratic lawmakers to provide more transparency over the roughly $300 million Trump owed to the bank for his real estate dealings prior to becoming president. So when he set out to relaunch his empire, he turned to Deutsche Bank for the financing he couldn't find elsewhere.

The court's brief, unsigned orders on Monday urged appeals courts to move swiftly to determine whether the latest ban was lawful. Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor said they would deny the request but did not spell out their reasons.
Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee asked the bank in May for information about reports that it might have been a conduit for Russian money for the Trump family.
A spokeswoman for the German bank declined to comment on the reports when contacted by AFP, saying only that "Deutsche Bank takes its legal obligations seriously and remains committed to cooperating with authorized investigations into this matter". I don't have buildings in Russian Federation.
During his election campaign, Mr Trump said he would seek to improve ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which were strained during former president Barack Obama's administration.
