Tonight: Tonight marks the earliest sunset of the year for the area. This morning we're looking at widespread rains with some moderate to heavy downpours and temperatures in the mid 40s.
A second cold front will bring a chance for rain and snow showers early next week. Temperatures this afternoon will likely only manage to get into the low and mid 40s and with a west breeze occasionally gusting between 20 and 30 miles per hour, wind chill values will be well down into the 30s. Better chances for seeing some flakes exist the farther east of the city you go, including the beaches. The wind is making temperatures feel like they are in the lower 20s this morning. With cold air at the surface, and the continued overrunning pattern in place, we are going to have to mention the chance for some snow across in these areas of state, Friday morning and into the afternoon as well. Skies clear too. Temperatures fall into the 30s quickly. High pressure at the surface, coupled with a dry cold airmass will allow temperatures to drop in the 20s once again.
Monday starts off mainly sunny, but clouds are likely to increase by afternoon with highs in the low to mid-40s. The National Weather Service defines a white Christmas as having more than 0.5 inches of snow falling on Christmas day with at least one inch of snow on the ground.
